I just got the notice, through the Latin American SF list PlanetaSF, that SF writer, critic, and editor Algis Budrys died this morning.
Budrys is best known for his works Who? (1958), Rogue Moon (1960), and Michaelmas (1977) - These last two were well-received and read in Brazil, thought they were never translated to Portuguese. He also had a very long correspondence with Brazilian SF writer José dos Santos Fernandes along the 80s and the 90s.
It´s a very sad loss. Rogue Moon is one of the best SF novels ever written.
Thanks to SF Signal and Steven H. Silver for complementing the info.
